Google can render JavaScript. But "can" and "will" are very different things. Here's the current state of JavaScript rendering and what it means for your WordPress site.

The two-wave indexing model

Google processes web pages in two distinct phases. The first wave is fast: Googlebot fetches the raw HTML, extracts text, links, and metadata, and adds the page to the index. This happens within seconds or minutes of crawling.

The second wave is where JavaScript gets rendered. Google places JS-dependent pages in a rendering queue, processes them when resources are available, and then re-indexes the page with the rendered content. The delay between wave one and wave two can range from a few hours to several weeks.
